“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” - Helen Keller
That quote has been a lifelong favorite of mine and best describes my life’s work as an Acupuncturist. I embarked on this adventure in September of 1997 and spent more than three years in the classroom and clinic (3,000+ hours), resulting in a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute (TAI), now known as the Maryland University of Integrative Health in Laurel, Maryland. Tai Sophia, one of the nation’s premier academic institutions for wellness-based education, clinical care, research and public policy discourse, offered the country’s first accredited program for the study of Acupuncture.
Upon completion of the Masters program I earned a Diplomate of Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and became Nationally Board Certified. My credentials also include certification from the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). As an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist I am certified to design and implement programs and provide Acupuncture treatment specifically for drug and alcohol abuse and smoking cessation.
